Methamphetamine Toxicology Lawyer and Expert Case Review

When the case depends on the science, your lawyer should understand the science.

A methamphetamine case may turn on questions that a laboratory report alone does not answer: whether a specimen was properly collected, whether postmortem redistribution affected the concentration, whether a driving opinion confuses exposure with impairment, or whether research from therapeutic or military settings actually fits the facts.

The number is the beginning of the analysis

Reliable interpretation starts with the complete record. That includes chain of custody, specimen source, collection time, analytical methods, quantitative results, medication history, other substances, observations, and the assumptions used by each expert.

In a postmortem case, heart blood and femoral blood may produce different methamphetamine concentrations. There is no universal correction factor that reliably converts one into the concentration at death. In a driving case, a positive result establishes exposure, but the relationship to function depends on timing, dose, sleep, tolerance, other drugs, observed behavior, and the limitations of the relevant studies.

Scientific context must match the case

Research involving prescribed stimulants for ADHD or medically supervised military fatigue countermeasures cannot simply be transferred to uncontrolled methamphetamine exposure. The populations, doses, purposes, oversight, and outcome measures are different.

Likewise, a small simulated-driving study cannot decide an individual case by itself. Good forensic analysis identifies what a study supports, what it does not support, and whether its conditions resemble the facts being litigated.

Integrated legal and scientific review

Okorie Okorocha, JD, MS, MS reviews complex matters involving drugs, alcohol, toxicology, and scientific evidence. The objective is a disciplined case theory grounded in the record and in appropriately bounded scientific literature.

SCIENCE. STRATEGY. TRIAL EXPERIENCE.

Serious representation when medicine, drugs, alcohol, toxicology, or complex scientific evidence can determine the outcome.

Where Science Meets the Courtroom.

For a case-specific consultation, provide the toxicology report, laboratory packet, police or investigative reports, medical or autopsy records, and the relevant timeline. No scientific conclusion should be offered until the actual materials are reviewed. Request a consultation.
