THC-Glucuronide Often Peaked in the First Collected Urine
For seven of eight occasional participants with THC-glucuronide present, the highest measured concentration occurred in the first urine void. An observed first-sample maximum does not locate the exact biological peak.
The first collection already contained the maximum observed value
The controlled cannabis study analyzed every urine void after dosing in frequent and occasional users. Its discussion identified this first-void pattern for THC-glucuronide in the occasional group. The report also found later peak timing after oral administration than after smoking or vaporization in that group.
Collection timing limits peak resolution
When the first postdose specimen is the largest measured value, there is no earlier postdose urine measurement demonstrating when the concentration began falling. The highest observed point may occur after an unobserved maximum. Urine produced and accumulated before voiding also differs from an instantaneous blood draw. The first collection time therefore should not be rewritten as the precise time of maximum circulating THC or maximum behavioral effect.
Keep the conjugate and population attached
The finding concerns THC-glucuronide, not parent THC, THC-COOH or THC-COOH-glucuronide. It also describes a small occasional-user subset rather than every cannabis user. The observation is useful for planning early collections and interpreting an excretion curve, but it does not provide a reliable clock for reconstructing unknown last use. A measured urinary peak remains distinct from impairment.
