The THC–CBD Mood Questionnaire Did Not Directly Measure Anxiety

The study’s adjective mood questionnaire covered six emotional categories, but the authors noted that it did not directly assess anxiety. Its mood findings should not be relabeled as a dedicated anxiety outcome.

What the instrument asked

Woelfl and colleagues used a short adjective mood rating scale with sixty adjectives and four response options. Categories included performance-related activity, general inactivation, extraversion, general well-being, emotional excitability and depressiveness. Participants also completed separate cognitive and attention tasks after oral cannabinoid or placebo administration.

Nearby concepts are not identical outcomes

A change in emotional excitability, extraversion or depressiveness may be relevant to a person’s experience without being a validated measurement of the anxiety question a later claim asks. The paper discussed anxiety evidence from other research, but that discussion does not add an unadministered anxiety instrument to this trial. Likewise, a transient mood rating is not a diagnosis of a chronic psychiatric disorder.

Keep a treatment claim tied to its measure

The experiment does not establish that CBD treats or fails to treat every anxiety condition. It tested a single regimen in selected healthy men and did not demonstrate CBD protection across the measured THC effects. An anxiety-specific claim needs evidence using an appropriate anxiety outcome and population. Naming the actual scale prevents a broader conclusion from being smuggled into a summary of this trial.

Related analysis: the oral CBD pretreatment trial.

Minor Breath Cannabinoids Were Not Detected in Every Early Sample

CBC and THCV showed promising early detection patterns, but neither was detected in every evaluated participant within the first hour. Their individual findings should not inherit the combined test’s reported 100% classification result. The marker counts were specific In the report’s table, CBC was detected in thirty-nine of forty participants…

Breath THC Half-Life Estimates Changed With the Sampling Interval

The reported breath THC half-life was much shorter immediately after smoking than at later sampling intervals. A two-point breath estimate was not a fixed whole-body elimination half-life. Different portions of the decline produced different values The report gave an average estimate of approximately 4.2 minutes over the zero-to-twenty-minute interval, compared…

Six-Month Frozen Pad Stability Did Not Mean Six-Month Breath Detection

The six-month experiment tested cannabinoids stored on fortified collection pads after preparation for laboratory evaluation. It did not test how long a living person continues to exhale cannabinoids after use. The study followed a collected material Fortified pads at low and high control concentrations were stored at −20°C. After six…
