Liver-Test Abnormalities in the CBD Epilepsy Series Included Resolution Without Stopping Treatment

The adult epilepsy series reported liver-function abnormalities in seven patients, with increases below twice the normal value. Most resolved without a treatment adjustment, while one resolved after valproic acid was tapered.

The severity and course belonged in the result

Seven of 37 patients had recorded abnormal liver-function results. Six resolved without treatment adjustment; the remaining case resolved after valproic acid reduction. These observations provide more information than an undifferentiated statement that liver abnormalities occurred.

A treatment change does not prove one causal explanation

Resolution after reducing valproic acid is relevant to a possible contribution from concomitant therapy. It does not establish that valproic acid alone caused the abnormality, or that CBD played no role. The uncontrolled retrospective series cannot separate every drug interaction, patient characteristic and time-related influence.

A laboratory signal is not equivalent to liver failure

The report did not describe these observations as proof of severe clinical liver injury. Equally, resolution of the recorded abnormalities does not establish absence of hepatic risk in other populations or regimens. An evidence-based summary preserves the magnitude, number affected and clinical course without either minimizing the laboratory finding or enlarging it into an unsupported diagnosis. This is a treatment-experience observation in a selected severe-epilepsy cohort, not a universal safety estimate for all CBD products.

The CBD Scan Trial Used Equal Allocation Despite Planning a Two-to-One Ratio

The scan-anxiety study ultimately randomized twenty-five participants to each treatment. The paper disclosed that its original sample-size plan anticipated a two-to-one allocation instead. The discrepancy concerned the allocation ratio The central registrar inadvertently implemented a one-to-one scheme rather than the originally intended unequal ratio. Participants still underwent randomized assignment, and…

Only Six Participants Had Severe Baseline Anxiety in the CBD Scan Trial

The scan-anxiety trial stratified randomization by baseline anxiety severity, but only six participants were in its severe category. Stratification did not supply enough data for a reliable severe-anxiety subgroup analysis. The CBD Scan-Anxiety Trial Measured Prescan Anxiety, Not Anxiety During the Scan

The trial’s acute anxiety assessment occurred after CBD dosing but generally before the scheduled cancer scan. It did not directly measure whether CBD reduced distress inside the scanner. The two timing intervals were different Participants received the study drug within 48 hours before a tumor-assessment scan. Anxiety was reassessed two…
