Did CBD Change How a Self-Paced 10-Kilometer Run Felt?

A person can enjoy a run more without finishing it faster. A randomized crossover study measured both subjective experience and performance after a single oral dose of CBD.

What runners did on each visit

Fifty-one recreationally active adults contributed to the final analysis. Participants received 150 mg of CBD or placebo 90 minutes before a self-paced 10-kilometer track run. They rated how they felt during and after the run. The investigators also recorded pain, perceived exertion, and completion time.

Separate the exercise effect from the capsule effect

The researchers detected no significant CBD effect on the outcomes measured. Some mood measures improved after the run across conditions. The placebo comparison helps separate those post-run changes from a CBD effect. The study addresses a single dose and this running task, leaving other formulations, exercise settings, and repeated use outside its scope.
