The Cannabis Metabolomics Panel Was Targeted Rather Than an Unrestricted Survey of Every Metabolite

The cannabis metabolomics study measured a predefined panel of 91 biomarkers and 22 ratios. Its findings describe the sampled biochemical space, rather than every metabolic consequence of cannabis.

The analytical method selected particular families

The investigators used targeted liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry methods covering carboxylic acids, polar neurotransmitters, lipids, tryptophan and tyrosine metabolism, and steroids. Selection allowed structured measurement of relevant compounds. It also determined which possible signals could be discovered in the analysis.

An unmeasured compound cannot supply a null result

Failure to report a change outside the targeted panel does not show that no change occurred there. Likewise, a prominent signal within the panel does not establish that it is the largest or most specific change across the entire metabolome. Those comparisons would require appropriate additional measurement.

The panel and the predictive claim are different things

A sensitive chemical method can quantify selected compounds without validating a clinical classification rule. Analytical coverage, reproducibility and functional prediction each require evaluation. The study’s targeted approach supplied useful candidate associations under controlled conditions, while leaving broader metabolic coverage and practical impairment classification unresolved. A research-based account should identify the panel rather than treating the general label metabolomics as proof that every relevant pathway was measured.

Later Chemotherapy Cycles Did Not Supply an Analyzed Efficacy Replication

The final trial reported that efficacy results for cycles B and C were not analyzed because of substantial crossover. The first-cycle benefit therefore should not be presented as three separately demonstrated cycles of efficacy. Later treatment histories became mixed The study included different continuation and crossover arrangements across its phases….

Patient-Rated Cannabis Symptoms and Clinician-Graded Adverse Events Gave Different Safety Views

The chemotherapy trial collected both patient-rated cannabinoid-related symptoms and clinician-graded adverse events. Their percentages should not be combined as though they used one severity definition. The assessments used different frameworks Participants completed a structured checklist including sedation, dizziness, anxiety, disorientation, hallucinations and palpitations. Clinicians used the Common Terminology Criteria for…
