Nabiximols Cannabis-Use Findings Depended on the Outcome and Accompanying Therapy

Trials summarized in the substance-use review found different patterns for cannabis use, craving and withdrawal during nabiximols treatment. Psychosocial treatment was also part of several comparisons.

The preparation contained THC as well as CBD

Nabiximols is a THC:CBD oromucosal preparation. The review describes studies using it alongside standardized psychosocial care or motivational enhancement and cognitive behavioral therapy. Their results cannot be attributed to isolated CBD, and outcomes under combined care should retain that treatment context.

The symptom measures did not always agree

One reviewed study found reduced withdrawal with craving similar to placebo. Another reported reduced cannabis use and craving without a withdrawal-score difference. In a further trial involving individual cognitive behavioral therapy, the active group reported fewer cannabis-use days, while both groups improved comparably on several secondary health and psychosocial outcomes.

A narrower benefit remains worth reporting

The lack of a difference on one symptom measure does not invalidate a supported finding on use days. Equally, fewer use days do not establish improvement across every withdrawal, functioning or health measure. The review’s mixed pattern supports endpoint-specific interpretation rather than a general statement that cannabinoid replacement therapy uniformly resolves cannabis-use disorder. Product composition, accompanying care, comparator and outcome remain essential to determining what each trial actually adds.

Sheep THC Clearance and Distribution Estimates Depended on a Small Bioavailability Pilot

The sheep paper’s clearance and distribution estimates relied on an approximate oral-bioavailability value from a two-animal pilot. The numerical estimates should retain that assumption rather than being treated as independently established species constants. The pilot supplied a limited reference One sheep received intravenous THC and another oral THC. The paper…
