Alpha-Pinene Doses Were Anchored to a Product Sample, Not Every Cannabis Strain

The alpha-pinene trial’s lower doses were selected using chemical analyses of a particular cannabis sample collection. That makes the dose rationale concrete without making it a survey of every cannabis product.

The investigators used measured product composition

The methods describe analyses of 107 samples representing 29 cultivars sold by one licensed producer. The lower experimental amounts reflected the mean and maximum alpha-pinene amounts in one gram of flower within that collection. An additional higher dose expanded the tested range after pilot work.

A rationale is not a universal composition estimate

The collection helped select relevant experimental amounts. It did not establish the full distribution across all producers, regions, harvests or product types. Nor does a constituent amount in one gram specify the absorbed dose from smoking or vaporization.

Keep the dose range attached to the null result

The absence of the proposed memory protection was observed across the tested combinations, including an amount above those represented by the lower dose rationale. That strengthens interpretation within this experiment while leaving other formulations and interactions open. It does not establish that all terpene profiles are identical. A claim about a particular strain needs its own composition and a relevant outcome comparison, rather than borrowing a mean or maximum from a different product collection.

CBD Memory Findings in Cerebral-Malaria Mice Involved Adjunctive Antimalarial Treatment

A mouse cerebral-malaria experiment summarized in the CBD brain review reported memory findings when CBD was added to artesunate. The observation concerned adjunctive treatment in an infectious-disease model, rather than CBD alone as a general memory enhancer. The disease and co-treatment belonged in the result The review describes CBD treatment…

Attrition and Incomplete Dosing Complicated an Observational CBD Pain Report

An observational CBD study summarized in the brain-function review reported improvement in pain patients but had substantial participant loss and incomplete dosing information. Those limitations constrained attribution of the change to CBD. The clinical groups did not report one uniform response The review describes Gulbransen and colleagues’ exploratory quality-of-life study….
