A Daily THC Regimen Included Exceptions on Challenge-Test Days

A regimen described as daily THC treatment did not mean an identical maintenance dose on every calendar day. A mouse study omitted that dose on days when challenge drugs were administered during testing.

The methods defined the actual schedule

Singh and colleagues used a repeated THC regimen with a six-hour pre-session interval. Fifty-six days elapsed between the first and last treatment days, but the scheduled maintenance injection was replaced with vehicle on cumulative-dose challenge days.

The label alone would lose exposure detail

Counting elapsed days as the number of identical maintenance injections would misdescribe the protocol. Challenge testing also involved drug administration, so an omitted maintenance injection should not automatically be called a drug-free day. The exposure history includes both the maintenance schedule and the test-session doses.

Reconstruct the protocol before interpreting adaptation

Frequency, timing and interruptions can matter when comparing tolerance studies. This experiment does not independently isolate the effect of its omitted doses, because the omissions were part of the testing design rather than a randomized intervention. It nevertheless provides a clear reporting lesson: daily, chronic and continuous are not substitutes for the actual dosing record. The same care prevents an experimental schedule from being converted into an unsupported claim about abstinence or recovery in cannabis users.

The Four Cannabinoid Tetrad Outcomes Were Measured at Different Times

The cannabinoid tetrad in one mouse experiment was a sequence of tests, not four simultaneous measurements. Differences between outcomes therefore retained a timing dimension as well as a behavioral one. The protocol specified a fixed order After WIN55,212-2 injection, Pava and colleagues first recorded locomotor activity. Hot-plate testing followed at…

The Hot-Plate Response Definition Excluded Grooming in a Cannabinoid Experiment

A longer hot-plate response latency is interpretable only if the experiment specifies which behaviors count. A cannabinoid study excluded forepaw responses because they could be confused with grooming. The endpoint was operationally defined Pava and colleagues counted jumping, hind-paw licking or hind-paw fanning after placing mice on a heated surface….

A Later Null Comparison Was Not the Same as a Significant Recovery Interaction

The statistical evidence for recovery differed across outcomes in an alcohol–cannabinoid mouse study. A later nonsignificant group comparison did not establish the same treatment-by-time interaction for every response. The study assessed two recovery intervals Pava and colleagues compared cannabinoid responses one and ten days after repeated ethanol. Earlier differences were…
